On a final note, the school would like to express their gratitude to Emerald Facility Services for sponsoring the Cross Country Club who have helped cover travel expenses for the team. The support is very much appreciated by both the boys and the school.
Scoil Naomh Pádraig’s Cross Country team continues to go from strength to strength. On Thursday 7th April, a team of 25 runners braved the cold and windy conditions at Clondalkin Park to compete in the third and final qualifying round of the South Dublin Cross Country League. Once again, the team continued to punch above their weight especially against some larger South Dublin schools and they successfully qualified for the finals which take place on Thursday 12th May. Over the three rounds, the boys achieved an overall score of 71 points, bettering last year’s total of 47 points. With points being awarded for a top 10 finish, the school had a number of scorers. James Carroll, Michael Adedeji, David Ijoma and Bernard Ibirogba scored in all three rounds. Further points were notched up by Fintan, Michael Ijoma, Dylan O’Reilly, Oisín, Teighan and Ben. Next up for the boys is the Kildare Cumann na mBunscol Championships at Hawkfield on Friday 22nd April. Well done to all the boys who competed and we wish them the very best of luck for the rest of the season. On a final note, the school would like to express their gratitude to Emerald Facility Services for sponsoring the Cross Country Club who have helped cover travel expenses for the team. The support is very much appreciated by both the boys and the school.
