Mr Healy
I would like to say a massive thank you to all the parents', staff and members of the school community who helped out with our bag-packing fundraiser in Dunnes' Stores last month. We raised over a €1000 for our IT fund and the day was a great success. Thanks also to the parents who sent in contributions, every cent is valued.

The Fantastic 4 this month who have excelled in their work & behaviour in class are Michael Connors, Cían Browne, Jordan Hayden & Albin Binu. Well done guys, we are very proud of you. We were very lucky this week to have a visit from Dogs Trust. Dogs Trust look after dogs who have no home. Most of their dogs are taken from the dog pound and cared for until they can find their forever home. Fiona came to speak to us along with her beautiful boxer Jake. Fiona spoke to us about responsible dog ownership and focused on dog safety.
Fiona also taught us about WALT • Walk slowly up in front of a dog because if you go behind the dog might get a fright. • Ask the dog’s owner if can you pet their dog. • Let the dog sniff your hand. Remember to use your safe hand, cover your fingers and let the dog sniff your hand. • Touch the dog gently. Never judge a dog by its looks. It might look happy but if could be grumpy. If you are afraid of a dog and it jumps on you, Fiona showed us how to stand still covering our fingers and making our arms into an x-factor sign. All of the boys really enjoyed the visit and we hope Dogs Trust will come and visit us again in the future. Here are some photos of Ms Byrne's class enjoying Fiona's talk. |
