At Scoil Phádraig we strive to achieve a physically educated and physically active school community. We aim to improve the attitudes of both children and those of the surrounding community towards physical activity and lay the foundation for positive physical activity habits.
In our main hallway you are welcome to view our ‘Active Flag Board’. We celebrate all pupils active achievements. Currently we have photographs and pieces written by students who have won medals for fishing and boxing.
However you do not need to be a medal winner to gain a place on our ‘Active Flag Board’. We simply want our students to be more active.
Our school will start every day with simple and fun exercise. At the moment we are exercising outdoors and on rainy days we will exercise in our P.E. hall.
Perhaps parents/guardians could work in tandem with Scoil Phádraig and increase the time that children exercise at home be it just throwing a ball in the garden or simply play ‘tag’ rather than switching on the Wii.
We all know every little helps.
