Scoil Naomh Pádraig would like to extend their gratitude to Emerald Facility Services for financial support given to the school’s recently formed cross country team. The team has been entered into the South Dublin County Cross Country league which will take place on February 12th, March 12th and April 16th. In addition, the boys will compete at the Cumann na mBunscol Kildare Championships at Hawkfield, Newbridge on March 26th. Alan Ward, company Finance Director and Athgarvan resident came into the school to meet the cross country team and to see the great progress that the boys are making. The contribution made by Emerald Facility Services will help cover travel expenses to the upcoming races. The boys and all the staff at Scoil Naomh Pádraig greatly appreciate the support and once again thank Alan and Emerald Facility Services.
Mr Connolly With the winter almost behind us (hopefully), I was hoping that the school community could come together for one morning and give the school grounds and surrounds a much needed spruce up :) As you know, we do not have a full time caretaker here in Scoil Naomh Pádraig so any little help would be greatly appreciated.
The plan is to do some weeding and landscaping, some painting, both indoor and outdoor and a few other small bits and pieces. So, any trowels, shovels etc would be appreciated on the day. The date I have in mind is Saturday, February 7th at 9:30am. If you could let send in a note with your son or post a comment below to let me know that you're planning to attend that would be helpful to me in so far as making a definite plan for the day. regards, Mr Healy When we arrived in to school on Wednesday morning we looked out the window and decided there was only one thing for it - to go outside! We wrapped up from head to toe in hats, scarves and gloves and off we went. The boys have been busy learning all about magnetism. We learned that magnets have north and south poles and also what the words 'attract' and 'repel' mean. The boys then planned and designed their own fishing games using magnets and paper clips. We had lots of fun playing the games when they were finished. Have a look at the pictures below. Best wishes to the 15 parents who started a FETAC Level 5 course in Communications in the Parents Room this morning. That's a great start to the new year. Make sure to do your homework now!
