Yesterday, we were delighted to welcome a visitor to our school who taught us all about the drums. We had great fun learning about the different drums which came from Africa and we even got to try them out for ourselves. We shook the shakers, banged the drums with our hands and with drumsticks and we played the apples and oranges (shakers) also. We really liked being part of the band! We are all drumming experts now!
Last week nineteen boys joined our school for the first time and what a busy week they had! We all got to know each other, we explored the school a little and we learned lots of new things. We learned some new songs like Rollaí Pollaí, Lámh, Lámh Eile, the Today Song and Wheels on the Bus. We love doing the actions for the songs! We learned some games to play at break time also- Hopscotch and What Time is it Mr. Wolf? We learned the 's' and the 'a' sounds and practised making patterns with our pencils. We had lots of fun tracing our names and making our handprints with paint on Friday, look at our lovely handywork!
