Well done to all of the boys in my class, you have worked very hard this year. For some boys it was your first year in 'big school' and I know that you will be fantastic role models to next year's infants just as the current Senior Infant group were to you. The Senior Infants set a wonderful example for the younger boys throughout the year. You have worked extremely hard all year and should be very proud of yourselves. I hope all students, parents and staff members enjoy the Summer holidays!
As this school year comes to an end I would just like to say a massive thank you to the parents of pupils in Junior and Senior Infants. Without your support and co-operation the boys could not have made the fantastic progress I have noticed over the course of the year. Thank you for helping with homework, volunteering your time to help out with events such as Maths for Fun and swimming lessons and being so open and approachable. I really appreciate your co-operation throughout the year. I hope you all have a lovely Summer.
Last Thursday was the day many of the boys had been waiting in anticipation for- Sports Day! Junior and Senior Infants enjoyed cheering on the Kerry and Dublin teams in the Gaelic League in the morning. Having ran off the heats earlier in the week, the finalists ran their individual races after break time. Well done to all who participated, particularly Eoin and Bernard who won their individual class races and Tadhg, Dylan, Michael and Scott on winning the Infant relay race. Well done to all who participated in the obstacle course activities. Most boys felt the highlight of the day was the ice-cream cone at the end of the day. Well done boys, you were all fantastic!
Congratulations to all the boys who have recently completed their swimming lessons for this year. For some boys it was their first time going to lessons from school and others have improved so much since last year that they are jumping in and even venturing down towards the deep end of the pool! Here are a couple pictures of the boys proudly showing off their certificates. A big thank you to Shane and Jimmy for all their help!
Last Friday, Junior & Senior Infants along with First and Second Class enjoyed a lovely day out at Stonebrook Pet Farm! A big thank you to all the staff at Stonebrook who were so kind and helpful, allowing us pet and feed the animals and even taking us on a tractor trailer ride around the farm. Some of the highlights of the day were meeting Priscilla the pig, holding the rabbits, guinea pigs and chicks and playing in the large play area. The boys loved the tractor ride around the farm. We finished off a wonderful day with a short stop off at Donnelly's Hollow on the Curragh for a picnic. Take a look at some of our photos!
