There are plenty of artists who incorporate optical illusions into their art, such as the artist whose work we looked at - M. C. Escher, a dutch graphic artist.
Here are some of his pictures which we looked at for the start of our lesson.
- an op art checkerboard.
They began by using a compass to draw out three or four circles onto their page.
They then traced back over the lines,
using a darkened pencil, or a black crayon,
to really make the lines on the sheet stand out.
alternating between the two colours which they picked.
- be careful you don't get too dizzy! :)
