The children looked at different styles of greek pottery which have been made over the past 4, 000 years.

They watched a powerpoint presentation on the different materials used, and how the decorative values of the vases changed over the years.

We looked at the poster beside for inspiration before we started drawing out our vase shape on wrapping paper.

Step 1:
The children folded some brown wrapping paper in half and draw one half of a Greek vase of their choice against the fold. They then turned the brown wrapping paper over, and completed the drawing on the other side, using the first line drawn as inspiration, and making sure their vase was symmetrical.

Step 2:
They then cut out the vase and draw figures and patterns on it using black markers. Afterwards, they pasted the vase on a coloured sheet before putting them on display in the hallway near our classroom.
