As we are so close to the Japanese Gardens in Kildare, we decided to pay homage to a tree ofter culturally associated with Japan - the Cherry Bloosom. Unfortunately, we don't have any cherry blossoms close to our school so we had to make do by looking at different images of them on the internet for inspiration. ![]() The first thing we used was Indian Ink - a runny ink that when it is moved it creates wonderful spidery lines all over the page. We dropped four or five drops of the ink using a dropper onto our pages. ![]() The next item we used was a straw, and we used the straw to help blow the ink in all directions. It was a tiring job, but the results were lovely. The last step of the process was to apply bright pink paint onto and between our branches with cotton buds, to represent the pink flowers of the cherry blossom tree. Check our the delicate procedure below. We have put our Cherry Blossom pictures in our school hall, and they had really brightened up the place.
