Recently, The Kildare Nationalist newspaper called to our school to get a lovely photograph of all our lovely new Junior Infants.
The boys are smiled wonderfully, and their picture appeared on the supplement last week.
For those of you who missed the picture, here it is for you to admire
For anyone who missed our parents evening on Monday 22nd September, one of the most important points discussed at the meeting was that of our new school code of discipline.
This code can be found on our school website under the Board of Management section, and under policies.
Please do make sure to check it out, and revise the four school rules with your child at home
. I come to school every day, on time and prepared.
2. I have respect for people and for property.
3. I do my best in class and allow others to do the same.
4. I behave in a proper manner around the school.
A huge thank you to Jakub's father Declan, who with a friend, recently started to clear away some of the debris in our school gardens.
The trees which had been in our gardens were cut down during the Summer, and unfortunately, left a lot of mess behind once they were gone.
We would love for any volunteers to come in to help us with the gardens, and of course, help make the school a more beautiful and special place for your children. :)
A big THANK YOU to all our parents and guardians who turned up to our parents evening which was held on Monday 22nd September.
It was great to meet all of you, show you what we will be doing this year, and to answer any queries which you may have had before the evening.
As mentioned in the meeting, should you have any questions, ideas or would like to volunteer around the school, please don't hesitate to drop in to me after school.
The Junior Infants have been settling really well into school over the past few weeks, and the Senior Infants have been leading such a great example - it's great!
We decided to treat ourselves in art last week by using paint for the first time this year - what messy fun we had!
We looked at examples of Autumn trees, and talked about the different colours which we see in them. We then used these colours - brown, green, red, yellow and orange to create our own Autumn trees, and the results were magnificent, a great effort made by all.
Well done boys, and I look forward to seeing the rest of your art as the year goes on.
Welcome to the new pupils joining us this year, and welcome back to our Senior Infants.
A new school year is starting, and I am looking forward to teaching Junior and Senior Infants this year in Room 1.
Please keep an eye on the website from time to time, as we will be uploading classwork which the boys have been doing, and even some pictures of them as they complete their activities.
