The children used cotton buds, paint and card to create a pointillism picture. The children looked at a PowerPoint to discuss different artists who have used the method of pointillism in their pictures, such as Georges Seurat. The children first began work on a small picture of a heart to remind them of how they apply the paint carefully to the picture, before moving on to some of the larger pieces which you can see in the display.
The children were able to explore simple mosaic designs. They were shown early versions of mosaics as designed by the Romans through the use of PowerPoint, and they explored how mosaics are been incorporated into current house designs, such as bathroom tiles. The children were encouraged to create their own mosaic using coloured squares of paper, and glue.
